Grundfos Raise the Bar for Efficiency with the New Alpha 3 Domestic Circulator

grundfos Alpha 3 Domestic CirculatorWith the release of the all new Alpha 3 domestic circulator, Grundfos is once again raising the bar for performance and efficiency and reminding us why they’re such a widely known, well-respected brand.

Domestic circulators have been relied upon by British homeowners to deliver hot water to their central heating systems for many years. For the majority of both installers and users, the variety of units available in the Grundfos Alpha 2 range has, and will continue to meet their needs, beautifully.

However, times are changing and although the fundamental services that a domestic circulator pump provides in terms of functionality, performance and all-round home comforts remain the same, demand for the ways in which those services are delivered is changing.

For the efficiency minded homeowner and installer alike, it is no longer sufficient to have technology that simply serves a purpose. Modern living dictates that emerging technologies offer efficiencies in terms of how it quickly they can be installed, how smoothly they operate and how much they cost to fit and run.

The all-new Alpha 3 domestic circulator pump from Grundfos ticks all those efficiency boxes.

First Class Functional Efficiency

To achieve a well-balanced indoor climate throughout a property, a domestic circulator unit is relied upon to regulate the even distribution and flow of hot water throughout various pipe systems and deliver it to radiators efficiently.

Depending on the size of a property and the age and quality of any component heating system parts, this process of equal heat distribution, known as hydronic balancing, can be a time-consuming task, or it was, until now.

When paired with the complementary, installer technologies of the Alpha reader and GO App, the Grundfos Alpha 3 is a truly state-of-the-art piece of kit that stabilises the temperature of a home environment so efficiently that it cuts the installation time in half.

Cost Efficiency

The dramatic reduction in installation time on offer means fitters are free to take on more jobs, and they can pass on the reduced labour costs to the customer so everyone’s a winner!

In the long-term, of course, it is the customer who will be most concerned with saving money and this is where the Alpha 3 really raises the bar in terms of cost efficiency.

According to OVO Energy, the cost of gas and electricity rose by 140% between 2004 and 2014. In real terms, that rise costs homeowners an extra £500 each year despite the fact that energy consumption has actually decreased during the same period.

With the value of the pound falling in the wake of the Brexit vote, some forecasters are now predicting that energy prices could rise by another 15% in the months ahead but that rise could be offset by installing a Grundfos Alpha 3.

The efficiency of this system is so good that it promises to reduce the average household heating bill by anything from 5-17%!

Efficient Installations

The Alpha 3 domestic circulator is compatible with a variety of domestic water heating systems so homeowners in almost every kind of property can benefit.

Equally suitable for upgrading the operational efficiency of an existing domestic heating system to reduce costs and improve home comforts, or for getting a brand new service up and running quickly, the Alpha 3 is designed to operate with:

– Variable or constant flow systems

– One or two pipe systems

– Underfloor heating

You can order your Grundfos Alpha 3 domestic circulator online from Anchor Pumps and enjoy a 5 year warranty and free home delivery.

Anchor Weigh Up New Opportunities on 30th Anniversary

ap an

Friday 12th August 2016; Anchor Pumps, one of the UK’s biggest suppliers of industrial and domestic pumps, is celebrating 30 successful years in business by looking to the future and planning further growth.

Since founder Ken Rowe first opened the doors back in 1986, the firm has gone from strength to strength. Now stocking over two million items on-site, the firm operates from purpose-built premises in Warrington, having outgrown their original base in Northwich due to increasing customer demand.

Supplying the likes of Rolls Royce, Mars, Coca-Cola, Bird’s Eye and United Utilities with specialist pumps and accessories, as well as providing spare parts and repair and service facilities, over the years the firm has also rubbed shoulders with Hollywood, supplying Warner Brothers with pumps for use in special effects in their blockbuster films.

With a “customer first” policy throughout its history, the team at Anchor Pumps can boast of over 100 years of combined experience in the industry. Such depth of knowledge and experience has helped cement their reputation as the sector’s foremost authority in the UK. As well as being highly skilled, the team at Anchor Pumps offer their customers clarity and depth of understanding of the sector that can help them to make the right commercial decisions and achieve their own success.

All Anchor Pumps’ projects begin with an estimate for any necessary repairs or replacements, which is provided completely free of charge and without obligation. The company’s pump-testing facilities ensure all products are fully working to the best of their capabilities, and service contracts following installation give customers reassurance that equipment is kept in peak condition.

Other services on offer include specialist pipework fabrication, as well as a state-of-the-art machine shop facility, and with a very extensive range of spares available from stock for immediate despatch and fully professional installation, theirs is truly a complete service.

Anchor Pumps large, loyal and growing customer base can choose from products manufactured by the likes of Grundfos, Lowara, Mono, Dab, Calpeda, Jesco, Flyght, Cat, Saniflo, Salamander, Stuart Turner, KSB and many more. Many of these manufacturers have done business with Anchor Pumps throughout the company’s history. For example, their association with Viking Pumps alone goes back over 20 years and stands as a testament to their commitment to building lasting and meaningful relationships with their suppliers.

2010 saw the firm undertake a shrewd strategic move into online sales, offering a fully secure online sales service for customers outside the North West area of the UK and putting them ahead of their competitors. The team at Anchor Pumps recognised that online activity would help raise their profile, underline their commitment to the industry and find them new customers. The strategy has proved to be very successful, and due to demand they now also operate websites in France and Germany to better service the needs of European-based customers.

Management and staff are thrilled to be celebrating 30 years in business, and they view the 30th anniversary as an opportunity to put new plans in place and grow further still.

Warren Holmes, Anchor Pumps’ Managing Director, comments; “Business has grown year on year significantly, despite a more competitive and turbulent market place. We have plans to continue to grow with more brands looking to joining Anchor Pumps very soon. The future is looking very promising”.

Grundfos Pumps and Alder Hey Hospital

With 270 beds, 16 digitally enhanced operating theatres spread over five storeys and an indoor tree-house where children can play while convalescing, the brand new £237 million Alder Hey Children’s Hospital is a wonderful healing environment featuring some of the best paediatric facilities in the world. The state-of-the-art hospital requires an efficient, state-of-the-art infrastructure, which is why the decision was made to fit Grundfos pumps throughout the facility.

Alder Hey Anchor Pumps
Built inside Springfield Park, Liverpool, the design of the new hospital has been heavily influenced by the thousands of children that passed through the doors of the original hospital building since it was founded more than 100 years ago. Known as Alder Hey in the Park, the new facility also features a multi-million-pound medical research centre and has parking for 1,200 vehicles. It will be used by around 275,000 youngsters each year.

The original Alder Hey was one of the first sites to install energy-efficient Magna Grundfos pumps back in 2002, so the developers of the new building knew this was a brand that could be relied on to deliver.
22a109b201f1fa6d7ffee0c8f91e9cd9_400x400The complex heating, cooling and ventilation needs of a hospital mean that it’s essential to fit pumps that can operate on demand twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. Following consultations with the developers, Grundfos assisted with the specification and supply of more than 70 speed-controlled pumps and booster sets. Grundfos also supplied pressurisation units and ancillary equipment. The supporting role the pumps play at Alder Hey will be a crucial element in ensuring that patients remain as comfortable as possible throughout their stay.

Alder Hey in the Park could not have been completed without the generous fundraising efforts of groups all over the country. Anchor Pumps, a leading supplier of Grundfos Pumps, is just one of the many companies that contributed towards the effort to get the new facility off the ground. In the run-up to Christmas 2014, £1 every online order placed at Anchor Pumps was donated to Alder Hey children’s charity to raise funds for the new building. With the help of various other suppliers who backed the campaign, Anchor Pumps managed to raise an incredible £3,400 through the initiative.
