What is a submersible pump?
A submersible pump is a type of centrifugal pump that can be fully submersed to pump liquid out of an area. They are often used to drain water caused by floods, in wells, for pumping groundwater and draining wastewater.
How does a submersible pump work?
Submersible pumps operate in a vertical position. The encased motor spins an impeller, which creates a centrifugal force that draws in the liquid from the water source and pushes it out through a discharge port. The liquid is then channelled through a pipe or hole before it is ejected through a connected hose or pipe.
